One, Two, Three, Four

Summer 2024

One

We have one kid, Ben, who is less than a month away from getting his driver's license! He's so looking forward to the freedom that comes with it. It'll be nice, and a little bittersweet, for him to be able to drive himself to work and to all his different activities. He also just got his first real job. He's working at SMR (Snow Mountain River) which is an outdoor supply store that sells new and used outdoor equipment and also services bikes. Ben is really hoping to get more into the bike tech position, so hopefully, in time, that opportunity will present itself. Lastly, Ben is the one kid, so far, who is having their wisdom teeth taken out. Liv looks like she'll get to keep hers, and Sam's don't appear to be bothering him yet either.

Two

Currently, we have two kids who aren't in the continental United States.

Livvy is down in Mazatlan, Mexico with YWAM. She graduated from the intern class in April and is now officially on staff with YWAM with a minimum of a two-year commitment. She came home briefly at the beginning of the month for a visa trip, as she has to leave Mexico every six months to renew her visa. It was a quick, fun trip. We were able to meet a special friend of Livvy's who flew with her, Ezra. We spent some time up at Snow Bowl having a picnic lunch and throwing snowballs. Liv missed her mountains and the cold so much that we had to take advantage of the late snowfalls. It's not that unusual to have snow on the mountain in June, but when you've been living with 80+ degree heat with the humidity making it feel more like 95 degrees, it was a real blessing!

Sam is in Pilot Point, Alaska, again this summer for 6-8 weeks with our good family friend, Lyle Becker, with his wife and kids. Lyle owns and operates a hunting guide business, Alaska Skookum Guides. Last year was Sam's first year setnetting, and he wanted to do it again. He headed up there about the second week in June and will be back sometime in mid-August.

Three

Jon, Danner, and Zac are increasingly the only ones at home. My days this summer have been full of getting them to and from their various activities.
