Bedtime for the Three "Littles"

Just An Average Night

Pick up the Legos scattered around the floor.
Pick up your socks dumped by the front door.
Pick up the random shirts discarded here and there.
Pick up the pieces and parts of games strewn everywhere.

Let's brush your teeth.
Get your jammies on.
Sit here and bow your heads.
It's time to say our prayers.

The oldest of the Littles asks:
"Why do girls have long hair?"
"Why do we think of good questions right before bed?"
"Who invented shirts?"
Good night.

To the middle of the youngest three:
Where are your socks for your hands?
Where's the tape to keep them on?
"No more sucking your thumb."
Good night.

The youngest of the little ones:

"I need water! I really, really do."
No, sweet one, you had a big glass of milk with dinner.
"But I really need some water!"
You're just fine.
Good night.
~5 minutes later, "Mom! You're right! I don't need water anymore."
Good night, again.

Peace and quiet. Sleep.
